Hi, I am glad you made it here, my name is Maiken Jepsen Sela, and I am soon getting ready for my qualitative research study, which I am very excited about to lead.
I am a domestic violence advocate, trauma informed art therapist, and a creative soul that love to make an improvement in the world and my community. I have dabbled in fine arts, graphic design, dental and medical office assistant, medicine technician, property manager, I had my BS in Internet Marketing at Full Sail University and started my MBA at DeSales Universtiy where an international business course in Peru changed everything. I felt in love with the Peruvians, and I would never be the same again. After seeing the poor living conditions and no clean drinking water supply, I needed to make a change. I ended up transferring out of the MBA program into the Public Health, Ph.D. program at Walden University concentration in community health education.
My research study will be focusing on domestic violence victims.
Currently, I am getting ready to take a few courses on the side at MIT for entrepreneurship, Princeton University for Buddhism and Psychology, and SUNY for website design.
Who says you cannot have multiple hobbies and interests? The key is to balance it all and produce excellent time management skills and set priority and goals and TAKING ACTION.
I have great plans for my future and ever evolving, but most importantly I live my life to the fullest and am grateful for my exciting journey.
FUN FACTS: I was born in Brazil, spent my childhood in Denmark, English is my third language. I love hiking, reading, learning about different cultures, thriving to be an inspiring mother, wife, community leader, and mentor.
